Have you ever wanted to load a different Safaricom line with airtime other than the one you are using? There is a very simple way of doing this via a USSD Code command. All you need is an unused Safaricom scratch card and your phone. The process is very similar to how you’d usually load your line with a few additions that include recipient’s mobile number. The closest alternative is commonly termed as “Sambaza”; however as we’ve come to realize, it has so many limitations including but not limited to your minimum balance. In addition, you may need to bypass your own number to avoid the credit amount being automatically deducted on some of your subscriptions such as SMS, Data bundles e.t.c.
Commonly known as “indirect top-up”, below is how you can load someone else line with airtime using your phone.
- Make sure you have unused Scratch Card
- On your Safaricom phone, dial *141*12-digit scratch card PIN you want to top-up*Mobile number you want to top-up#
- Example: *141*123456789012*0722000000#
- Press “OK/Call Button”
- You’ll both receive a notification confirming the top-up.
