It’s just a few weeks now to our general elections which are slated for August 9th this year, and the Independent Electoral Commission (IEBC) has come up with a nifty way to allow Kenyans verify and confirm their voter registration details online. Instead of queueing at various polling centers, Kenyans can now easily check their details at the comfort of their homes.
Using text message option
- On your mobile phone, compose a new text message with your Identification details (National ID or Passport)
- Example “22222222” and send it to “70000”
- You’ll receive a response with your details
How to confirm voter details online
- Open your browser and go to https://verify.iebc.or.ke
- Enter your ID details followed by the year of birth
- You’ll then need to pass the captcha challenge before submitting
- Another page will open with your voter details
